So, I wasn’t completely honest with you guys yesterday. About my reading.
I am reading The Canterbury Tales and Wizard and Glass, or I was. No. I am. I’m just taking a little break, you know.
But, what I didn’t tell you yesterday was that this weekend, between (and sometimes during!) my outings with my husband’s family, I was cheating on these two books with another book. One that is from the wrong side of the tracks. Let’s just say that I’ve been paying attention to the bad boy as of late.
I’ve been known to do this…sometimes I just want something “bad”. Something that I am too embarassed to even add to my books on Goodreads. But, I might as well do it now since I’m coming clean here.
And everyone on the internets has been talking about it, there’s been movie-making talk, and Ryan Gosling’s picture was associated with the main character of it in one of the articles I read, and I have been loving Ryan Gosling this weekend (I watched Crazy Stupid Love on Friday).
Alright, alright, just come out with it!
Umm. Okay.
Here goes all of my credibility out the window…
Just do it! Maybe someone else has read it too.
None of my friends on Goodreads have.
Everyone reads trash at times. Most of them don’t even know it. At least you know it is!
Yes. Ok. Well, I’ve been reading…on my Kindle app…just type it already!…
There. I said it. And you know what else?
I kinda like it.
I don’t know why…I’ve told you all before that I’m a mood reader. And, for some reason, this book has fit my mood. And people have these kinds of moods, right? I mean, I know that Harlequin novels sell like crazy.
Now, I don’t like it in the 5 stars way…in fact, I’m not even sure that I’m going to review it. How can you judge something objectively when you are simply reading something in spite of your objectivity. I NEEDED A BREAK!
So, I don’t know. Judge me as you will, but I must admit that I feel better now that I’ve gotten that off my chest.
While I’m at it, I’ll admit one more thing…I watch The Voice on Mondays! A reality singing show. It goes against everything I espouse about quality television, but I do. I watch mainly because…I’ll admit yet another thing…Tony Lucca, my childhood crush, is competing on the show. I used to watch him on The Mickey Mouse Club on Disney Channel when I was 11 or 12. So, I’m supporting my childhood TV boyfriend. And, I still think he’s cute.
Alright, I’m going to disappear again. I have been hiding from the internet for the past few days in shame. I’ll finish the book soon, and then I’ll be right back to normal.

HEE! OH THE CONTROVERSY! OHHHHHHHHH, THE SHAME!!!
:p
Wasn’t this the one that started out as Twilight fanfic? I think it was. Hee! <3
borkadventures
Yeah, you laugh, but admitting that to you was tough. I feel all… exposed.
Maybe this is good for me–exposure to books out of my comfort zone. I’ll liberate myself from the constraints of what is “good”.
And. Yes. It did start as Twilight fanfic. Groan.
sj
You definitely need to put it up on goodreads so you can add it to your EotW Challenge roster.
What?
sj
Do you want me to read it, too? Wanna collaborate on a TT sometime?
borkadventures
What what?
And YESSS! Alleviate my shame by partaking!!!

I have to finish JP, then read and make notes on the rough of Volcanoes, but after that I can read this one with/for you.
borkadventures
ha! Success!

I think it’s important to sometimes take a break from literature and read a book just for fun. I hadn’t heard about this one before your post but it sounds pretty risque. I’d love to see you attempt a review and if Ryan Gosling is going to be in the movie I’ll definitely be seeing it!
borkadventures
I don’t know if I can write a review…at least not in my typical fashion. I don’t know. But, if they make it a movie with Ryan Gosling it would be HOT!
Somersaulting Through Life
I’m a bit of a mood reader, too! Don’t worry about it, we all go there (some just don’t admit it!)
I’ve been watching the voice (not usually my type of thing either, but I missed the last ep. Must catch up!)
borkadventures
Thanks–normally I wouldn’t admit it, but if I can’t admit it to you guys, my reading comrades, who can I admit it to? I think I’m in safe hands with you all!

Don’t you worry one bit. I will also jump into the fray with some of these types of books and I do plan to read this “Twilight for adults” book just because…why not? I love a good controversy, and besides, I won’t ever raise my nose at any particular book. Heck, I even like a couple Dan Brown books *ducks* so I know what you mean about feeling exposed. I can’t wait to read your thoughts on Fifty Shades of Grey, too!
My husband and I love The Voice! Love it! So much better than American Idol.
borkadventures
Thanks Natalie! Well, if you guys are interested, maybe I’ll write something on it…if you read it, let me know!

Hee hee, I just heard about that book on the news today. All I heard was that it was supposedly smutty enough to be “controversial.” I had no idea it was a former Twilight fanfic, though, and now I’m really intrigued…in a “curious about the bad boy” sort of way
Domestic Goddess in Training
I have heard that is a great book and I heard that it is erotica. Even with all the buzz around that book, I am still on the fence about reading it. I have heard that the characterization is similar to Twilight. I guess I will have to wait for your review and see if it is worth reading or not.
Domestic Goddess in Training
So I succumbed to pressure (mainly from my husband) and picked up “Fifty Shades of Grey” today. I think he has other unsavory motives for being so supportive of the book, but that is fine with me. I never turn down the opportunity to buy a book.
borkadventures
umm…yeah, I think my husband would be supportive of my reading of it. Its on the iPad, so he’s never noticed me reading it. If he knew about the content though, I’m sure he would be encouraging me to spend even more of my time reading!
